You’ve seen everybody from Rihanna to Charlize Théron wear her clothes, now you can too: French fashion designer Catherine Malandrino this week opened her new Montreal boutique – her first retail outlet in Canada – with a red-carpet launch that drew a who’s who of Montreal society, hipsters, fashionistas and local vedettes.
“As a Parisian living in New York, I always thought of Canada as the bridge between the United States and Europe. On a human scale, I see Montreal as the quintessential combination of both lifestyles,” says Malandrino, adding she is very happy with her airy two-storey Montreal boutique. “The space is distinct, sophisticated and daring – it is the ultimate feminine experience.”
Guests – including Nadia Saputo, Geneviève Borne, Mitsou, Denis Gagnon, stand-up comic Sugar Sammy and renowned fashion curator Thierry Loriot who also co-hosted the party with Malandrino – enjoyed champagne and canapés at the red-carpet launch.
